We often think that a physical location, a big budget, or a ton of experience is necessary to make a living from reselling vintage clothing. That's not true.
My name is Camille, I’m 27 years old, I still live with my parents, and yet... I’ve been making a living from reselling vintage clothes straight from my bedroom.
Here’s exactly how I do it and how you can do the same with less than €1,000.
📦 Stock: The Most Strategic Investment
Everything starts with the right product. I began with a 10kg branded batch from United Vintage for €170. Inside:
→ Nike and Champion sweatshirts
→ Adidas and Ralph Lauren hoodies
→ Puma jackets
→ Nike, Levis, and Fila t-shirts, and more.
⚠️ Every piece was resellable. I quickly sorted through them, kept the best ones for Instagram, and put the rest on Vinted.
📸 Selling From Home: My Setup
→ Shooting space in my room: White sheet, natural light, iPhone
→ Sorting by brand for easier post management
→ Vinted + Instagram + a few direct sales to friends
Results:
✅ 23 items sold in 12 days
✅ Average price: €20
✅ Total revenue: €460
✅ Net profit (after purchasing stock): +€290
💼 Repeat the Process = Steady Income
Since then, I’ve kept going. One batch every 10 to 15 days, selling 25 to 40 items, and now I make between €2,000 and €3,000/month without rent, without overhead, and without a physical store.
What helped me:
→ Well-sorted batches, delivered ready to sell
→ Sought-after pieces (Nike, Ralph, Adidas, Lacoste…)
→ Fair pricing: I double or triple the purchase price
🔁 Why United Vintage Made My Life Easier
Before, I was doing thrift stores, Emmaus bins, flea markets… Too much time wasted.
Now:
➡️ I order, I receive, I sell.
➡️ Very few items are damaged or unsellable.
➡️ The batches are sorted by style, brand, or season: perfect for targeting your audience.
🧠 Conclusion: You Don’t Need a Store to Succeed
✔️ 1 phone
✔️ 1 clean space
✔️ 1 good vintage supplier
✔️ A bit of drive and consistency
You can start small, profitable, and scalable. If you want to test it out, start with a branded batch, post the best pieces on Instagram, and the rest on Vinted… and watch the orders come in.
