Open a thrift shop without premises? Here's how I earn €2500/month from my bedroom

It's often thought that you need premises, a big budget or tons of experience to make a living from vintage resale. Not true.

My name's Camille, I'm 27, I still live with my parents and yet... I make my living reselling vintage clothes from my bedroom.

Here's exactly how I do it, and how you can do it for less than €1,000.

📦 Inventory: the most strategic investment

Everything starts with the right product. I started with a branded 10kg bundle bought from United Vintage for 170€. Inside:

  • Nike and Champion sweatshirts, Adidas and Ralph lauren hoodies, Puma jackets, Nike, Levis and Fila t-shirts and much more.

⚠️ All the pieces were resellable. I sorted them quickly, kept the best ones for Insta and put the rest on Vinted.

📸 Selling from home: my organization

  1. Shooting space in my bedroom: white sheet, natural light, iPhone

  2. Sort by brand to better manage publications

  3. Vinted + Instagram + a few direct sales to friends

Result:
✅ 23 pieces sold in 12 days
✅ Average price: €20
✅ Total sales: €460
✅ Net profit (after purchase of stock): +€290

💼 Repeat operation = stable income

Since then, I've gone from strength to strength. A bundle every 10 to 15 days, between 25 and 40 pieces resold, and today I earn between €2,000 and €3,000/month rent-, service- and shop-free.

What helped me:

  • Well-sorted bales delivered ready to sell

  • Sought-after pieces (Nike, Ralph, Adidas, Lacoste...)

  • Fair prices: I double or triple the purchase price

🔁 Why United Vintage has made my life easier

Before, I used to go to thrift stores, Emmaus bins, flea markets... Too much time wasted.
Now:
➡️ I order, I receive, I sell.
➡️ Very few items are holey or unsaleable.
➡️ Bundles are by style, brand or season: perfect for targeting your audience.

🧠 Conclusion: you don't need premises to succeed

✔️ 1 telephone
✔️ 1 clean space
✔️ 1 good vintage supplier
✔️ 1 little envy and regularity

You can start small, profitable and scalable. If you want to test, start with a branded bundle, post the best pieces on Insta and the others on Vinted... and watch the orders fall in.
